The sun is shining (or at least trying to), strawberries are in season and fun-filled weekends spent in beer gardens tells us summer is finally on it’s way and that can only mean one thing ….it’s festival season!

Download Festival is a British rock festival, held every year since 2003 at Donington Park in Leicestershire. It is the most popular British summer rock and heavy metal and has hosted some of the biggest names in rock, including Black Sabbath, Metallica and Iron Maiden.
This year’s headliners are Slipknot on the Friday, Muse on the Saturday and Kiss on the Sunday. Other bands and artist who are also performing at this years festival are Faith no more, Slash, Enter Shikari and A Day To Remember.
Glastonbury Festival is one of the biggest and most famous Music Festivals in the UK and possible in the world as well, and it has had the most incredible artists from around the globe perform and over 170,000 festival-goers attending each year. Its line-up is diverse, including music, comedy, circus and theatre, taking place on many different stages and performance areas.
This year’s main headliners are: The Foo Fighters who will be hitting the Pyramid stage on Friday night and will perform for two and half hours, Kanye West will headline the Saturday night and it will be the rapper’s first appearance at the Festival and The Who will be headlining on the Sunday night to finish the festival.
Other acts which have been confirmed are Florence and the Machine, James Bay, George Ezra, Hozier, Paul Weller, The Chemical brothers and Ben Howard.
V Festival is an annual UK music festival taking place 22nd – 23rd August. The event is held at two parks simultaneously where artists perform at one location on Saturday and then swap on Sunday. The sites are located at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in South Staffordshire. Although predominantly a rock music festival, a wide range of musical genres are accepted; in recent years pop acts and mainstream artists have become more common, as well as the Dance music genre.
2015 line-up acts which have been confirmed for this awesome summer festival are Kasabian, Calvin Harris, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, Stereophonics, The Script, Olly Murs and Annie Ma.
This amazing UK music festival, Reading and Leeds Festival simultaneously take place on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August Bank holiday weekend and share the same bill and line-up. The Reading Festival is held at Little John’s Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, near the Caversham Bridge. The Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, the grounds of an historic house. Campsites are available at both sites and weekend tickets include camping.
The Reading Festival, one of the most interesting summer festivals in the UK, the original and senior of the two, is the world’s oldest popular music festival still in existence. Both festivals have a range of stages including the main stage, radio one stage, the dance tent and alternative tent. Both festivals are predominantly rock and punk festivals however over the years alternative and indie artist have been popular at the festivals. Some of the acts which have been confirmed for the 2015 line-up are The Libertines, Mumford & Sons, Metallica,Deadmau5, Knife party and Jamie T.
Creamfields is a large British dance music festival in the UK featuring DJs and live acts. It is held annually on the August Bank Holiday weekend in Daresbury, England. The festival started as an offshoot from Liverpool’s Cream nightclub and other Creamfields festivals have been held all over the world, such a Buenos Aires in Argentina and Moscow in Russia. Creamfields is known for its big dance music line-ups and this year’s line-up include artists and djs such as Afrojack, Annie Mac, Avicii, Eats Everything, Fatboy Slim, Hannah Wants, Jamie Jones, Pete Tong, and Tiësto.
Bestival is a four-day music festival held at the Robin Hill country park on the Isle of Wight. It has been held annually in September since 2004 and is organised by DJ and record producer Rob da Bank. The festival has grown in popularity over the years and now attracts over 55,000 people over the weekend and was nominated for ‘Best Major Festival’ and ‘Best Dance Event’ at the 2014 UK Festival Awards.
Bestival offers a diverse range of features from the most original boutique campsite experience, to the Bollywood Cocktail Bar, a Wishing Tree Stage, fancy dress en-mass and even a Roller Disco. Mark Ronsan, Duran Duran, The Chemical Brothers and Annie Mac are just some of the artists attending this year’s festival.
