Our parties are all about having a good time. It’s our mission to make each party the biggest and most spectacular Christmas and New Year’s Eve party you have ever been to but there is also a serious side to our parties and it’s one you help us with every year; to raise as much money as possible for charity – which makes our parties a good cause to party!
One of the most popular after-dinner entertainments we provide is the fun casino and silent auction. But did you know that every time you have a flutter on the blackjack table or try your hand at poker, you are actually helping raise money for three very worthy causes?
Over the last five years, we have donated £100,000 from money you have raised during the Christmas parties and we would like to say a massive thank you!
In 2014, guests who attended the parties at Tatton Park were able to help provide the Burns Unit at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital with the funds to re-decorate the treatment rooms where the children have to undergo extremely painful treatments to change and dress their burns, the money helped towards buying items that distracted the children during their treatment and helping to make the rooms a less sterile place.
The Alder Hey charity fund benefitted from money donated from the Aintree Racecourse proceeds and helped with their efforts to raise money to build a new cancer wing.
Proceeds from The ICC Glitter Ball were donated to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital for much needed funds towards creating a sensory garden which gives children with learning difficulties an alternative to the busy out-patients area.
Overall, you helped raised just over £21,000 during the 2014 parties for these three amazing charities and this year we would like your help to raise even more.
This year’s charities have now been chosen and we are very proud to work with the following charities for 2015:
Clatterbridge Cancer Charity – Aintree Racecourse
Clatterbridge Cancer Charity are dedicated to providing outstanding cancer care to around 27,000 patients each year at their centre in Wirral, our satellite radiotherapy centre in Aintree and at our network of chemotherapy units in local hospitals across the region.
The money they raise helps to offer the most up to date treatment, support vital research, treat patients with world-class equipment and provide life-changing support services that would otherwise be unavailable.
Birmingham Children’s Hospital – The ICC Birmingham
Our mission is to make a real difference to the children at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, their families and the staff who treat them by providing additional facilities, equipment and research and by creating a caring environment for all who use the hospital.”
So next time you are at one of our parties and you are asked if you would like to buy some ‘funny money’ for the casino, just remember you are helping to raise a lot of money for these charities. And for that, we salute you – thank you!
