Here are the best places to buy your Christmas tree in Birmingham and the surrounding area.

Wyevale Garden Centre, Bournville

Just 500 metres from Cadbury World, the home of the world’s favourite chocolate brand, the Bournville Wyevale Garden Centre is part of an estate that once housed the Cadbury family’s workforce. From pine-scented Norway spruce trees to deep-green Nordman fir varieties, you’ll be spoilt for choice here.

Woods Farm, Solihull

This acclaimed farm in the leafy town of Solihull offers a great selection of quality Christmas trees and has been serving customers for more than two decades. The site has more than three million trees to choose from, some of which are up to 60 feet in height! In fact, Woods Farm has even supplied trees for No. 10 Downing Street and other famous addresses across the country.

Hall’s Garden Centre, Sutton Coldfield

In the picturesque neighbourhood of Sutton Coldfield, a few miles northwest of Birmingham city centre, Hall’s Garden Centre provides a superb range of quality Christmas trees. In recent years these have ranged from potted 5-foot varieties to 8-foot+ trees, all of which can be delivered locally for a small surcharge.

The Bullring, Birmingham city centre

If you’re pushed for time, the most convenient place to buy a Christmas tree in Birmingham is probably the Bullring shopping centre at the heart of the city. Here, you’ll find numerous department stores selling artificial and real trees. Don’t forget to visit Birmingham’s spectacular Frankfurt Christmas Market, which is the largest German market outside of Germany and Austria!

Top tips for decorating your Christmas tree!

Choose a fixed place to position your tree. Moving it to different locations in your home or garden will be time-consuming, so make sure everyone in your household agrees on the location beforehand. If you’re placing your tree outdoors, make sure you have a water-resistant cable that’s long enough to attach to the nearest electrical source, and only use lights that are designed for outdoor use.

If you’re planning on putting chocolates on your tree, keep them out of reach of pets! (rest assured, many dogs will happily nick chocolate that’s within reach when their owners are out of the house!)
