We’re right in the midst of spring with a bank holiday seemingly every other weekend! Read our latest blog and make the most of the next one, rather than getting stuck with a paint brush doing DIY! We’ve listed our favourite things to do, in our favourite party places – Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham.
Open every day of the bank holiday weekend – it’s the very best in local food, drink, art, design, vintage and modern craft, all carefully selected by local businesses. We’ll see you by the cupcake stand!
On Sunday it’s not just any old 10k run… the Great Manchester Run has 10 different music zones along the route! So not only will the runners have a boost of encouragement as they take on the challenge, the spectators can also enjoy DJs, live bands and a Wall of Sound. Don’t forget there’s charity cheering points from Cancer Research UK, MacMillan, The Christie and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Now in its 10th year, Sound City returns from 25th to 28th May at Clarence Dock. With headline acts from The Kooks, The Cribs and the legendary Human League, there’s also immersive installations and live drumming band Katumba! Not to be missed!
If (fingers crossed!) the weather is on our side, why not head to one of the many beautiful beaches close to Liverpool? There’s Crosby, Formby, Ainsdale or Southport. Or a head to the Wirral for New Brighton or West Kirby. Don’t forget those buckets and spades!
The Sausage and Cider Festival is back! Starting at 6pm on Thursday 25th May until Sunday 28th only at The Prince of Wales in Moseley. There will be a selection of sausages and even some veggie options with the best ciders around.
Whatever you end up doing this bank holiday weekend, we hope you have a good one. The next one isn’t until the end of August, not that we’re counting or anything…
