Tips for planning an unforgettable Easter Egg hunt!
As the days lengthen and the trees start to bloom, you know another spring finally here and Easter is just around the corner! Read our top tips on how you can create the best Easter Egg hunt.
Make it challenging
It’s a good idea to plan the starting and finishing point of your Easter egg hunt in advance so you can create a decent trail with plenty of twists and turns. It can also be helpful to create a map of the trail so children won’t get lost – as long as you don’t make it too obvious where all the eggs are! Instead, think of a clever network of clues that will guide them to the next step. For example, you can leave some well-marked bunny footprints so your hunters will stay on track and find their way to the next hidden egg in reasonable time.
But not too challenging!
If you hide the Easter eggs too well, it will take much longer for guests to complete the task and they might not enjoy the experience quite as much. Of course, if it’s too easy, they might get bored and won’t have the opportunity to really test themselves and use their imagination. You could also use other spring-themed items besides Easter eggs.
Where to hide the Easter eggs
Hide the eggs in a variety of places – nestled in daffodil stalks, behind rocks, or underneath some tall grass. Don’t forget to create a list of where you’ve put all the eggs and number them according to the trail.
Make sure there’s a delicious prize awaiting the winner
After all that hard work, it’s only fair that your Easter Egg hunters are rewarded with something special. A traditional Easter egg with a few goodies packed inside (i.e. chocolate buttons, mini eggs) is common, although it can be any treat you like.
In fact, it doesn’t always have to be chocolate
It’s likely that many of your egg hunters will have more than their fair share of chocolatey gifts from family and friends already. Therefore, an alternative prize for an Easter egg hunt could be a book, a small toy, some jewellery or a gift voucher.
