Our favourite New York style burger joints in Manchester

New York New York, a helluva town!

Whilst we wish we could, we can’t always jet set across the pond for a spot of shopping, sightseeing or humungous food portions. So the next best thing is to find those little parts of the Big Apple right on your doorstep.

We’ve shortlisted our favourite New York-style burger joints all located in central Manchester.  Enjoy!

Almost Famous

A personal favourite; having sampled the Leeds and London pop-up as well – you cannot go wrong with this place.  New York-style burgers with a little extra: burgers topped with Cheerios, Doritos or Frazzles and chips with optional Marmite.  A burger joint pushing the boundaries whilst making exceptionally good slap up grub!

The Dorito effect – Immensely satisfying. #johnnymac #burger #almostfamous #doritos #foodporn

Burger and Lobster The menu is pretty simple here, you go for a burger or a lobster (or for those with a larger appetite you can have both!). At £20 for either option, most people go with the lobster, but if it’s a high end burger you’re after it’s worth every penny. You can tell by the taste why this place is often rated 4-stars.

Solita

Having a cheat day? Look no further than Solita, the home of The Big Mac. This is the perfect burger house to find food that is absolutely terrible for you – but too good to resist! The menu includes cheeseburger spring rolls and a ‘once in a lifetime’ burger (2x 7oz minced steak patties, pulled pork, crispy bacon, shoestring onions, buttermilk chicken strips, Monterey Jack cheese and house BBQ sauce).

Krabby Patty. Our soft shell crab burger.

Filthy Cow The Filthy Cow is a family business that believes firmly in good value for money – this is why they’ve made the prices so you can get a burger, fries and a soda all for a tenner. Compared to other New York style restaurants this is an affordable place that doesn’t disappoint.

Dog Bowl

Our final burger joint on the list is Dog Bowl. While this place is best known for its late night bowling, the menu is absolute stonker. Burgers such as The Deep South which combines bacon, pickle, slaw, cheese and Alabama white BBQ sauce are a real favouite among customers. This is not a quiet place to eat but well worth the money!

Now we’ve got you thinking Stateside, have you heard about the ultimate Christmas party in Manchester?  This year, at Tatton Park JD Parties is putting on New York New York, an all American party with a glass of bubbles of arrival, a three course meal, spectacular live shows, dance offs and competitions, top DJ and disco, casinos and bumper cars. So head across the pond to the city that never sleeps, for a night you’ll never forget!
